From the President- June 13, 2019

It is not acceptable. It is not innocent. It may be legal, but so is our right to raise our voices in protest.

In case you haven’t been following local news lately, a resident of El Sobrante recently ‘decorated’ his front yard with a swastika. https://ktla.com/2019/06/07/bay-area-man-says-he-landscaped-nazi-symbol-in-front-yard-because-i-like-swastikas/  or  https://www.newsweek.com/california-man-puts-giant-swastika-front-yard-1442471.

While this man is protected by the First Amendment, so is our right to gather peacefully and let the world know we will not sit idly by as symbols of hate and holocaust are displayed. Not In Our Town. There will be a demonstration on Thursday, June 20 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the corner of San Pablo Dam Rd. and Appian Way in El Sobrante. Please bring signs denouncing anti-semitism and all racism.

There are news reports that the offensive item has been covered. I don’t care. The community needs to know that we will stand up to any attempt to intimidate us, or anyone else. The protest is still scheduled.

I am still angry. I will be there.

We are what we do.
