Educator Jackie Edery
Beginning with the fall 2007 school year, long time Hebrew and Judaic studies teacher, Jackie Edery, became Temple Beth Hillel’s Educator.
Jackie brings a unique perspective of having been born in Casablanca, Morroco, growing up in Israel, and having been educated in both Israel and England receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree from Sede Boker College and a Master’s Degree at Chelsea University in Education.
His professional experience has spanned a variety of situations including having been the President of the Eilat Foundation, where he helped to fund raise millions of dollars for Eilat’s underprivileged neighborhood, served as the Deputy Mayor of Eilat, Principal at schools in Eilat, Israel and Nigeria, Africa, and Development Director and Hebrew Teacher in Las Vegas, NV. More recently from 2002 –2004, he served as Development Director and Hebrew Teacher of Tehiyah Day School in El Cerrito, CA. Since 2002 he has taught at Temple Beth Hillel as our Hebrew and Judaic studies teacher. When Jackie is not at TBH he also acts as the Hebrew and Judaic studies teacher, and Tifilah leader at Wornick Middle School.
As Educator, Jackie hopes to prepare our students to better face challenges of Jewish life in the Diaspora. He is passionate about teaching Hebrew and Jewish history, celebrating Jewish Holidays and helping his students learn to become a Bar and Bat Mitzvah through Tikun Olam and Tzedaka.
