Volunteer!

Are you looking to make a difference?  Volunteer your time and talents, and you’ll not only help the Temple and your community, you’ll meet great people—and have fun, too.

Temple Choir

TBH has a small choir which sings at High Holiday services, occasional Shabbat services and life cycle events, including B’nai Mitzvot and memorial services.  We also participate in the GRIP  (Greater Richmond Interfaith Project) choir festival. The singers are all volunteer TBH members who love to sing.

Some of us have been singing for years, others don’t read music.  All that is required is that you love to sing and can carry a tune.

We usually rehearse on Wed. evenings, and the schedule varies from weekly before the High Holy Days to occasionally (maybe once a month) the rest of the year.   We welcome anyone who’s interested to contact Rosemary Gerber at 510-507-2570.

Temple Library

We have lots of books that need to be added to our library. The library has hundreds of books to process. If you are detail oriented and good at learning simple computer programs and have an online connection, consider becoming a cataloging volunteer. Interested in helping out?  Contact Laura Taub

GRIP Homeless Shelter

Many thanks to all of our members who helped provide food for the families at the GRIP Homeless Shelter. Over 45 member families made sure that the families at the shelter had delicious dinners every night for two weeks in January.  Interested in helping next year?  Contact Doug Freifeld or Elizabeth Miller.

Publicity and Marketing

Are you good at graphic design and willing to share your talents? Are you willing to post flyers at businesses and public places? Do you like volunteering at booths at festivals? If you have said yes to any of these things, please contact Judy Flum.
